Ice Guard AP advanced protection slime control utilized Nano Titanium technology to inhibit the formation of bacteria in ice machines. This material is in a stick form that can be placed in the sump of the ice machine. As the water circulates across this advanced media, it destroys and absorbs slime producing organisms. The ice Guard AP continuously treats the sump water for up to 6 months. Replace every 3-4 months in bread and pastry baking environments. One stick will treated a machine producing up to 1200 lbs. of ice per day.
Bacteria is a natural occurrence in our environment, and it can be waterborne or even airborne such as yeast found in bars and sandwich shops. Once it enters an unprotected ice machine, it can begin to develop into a slime growth, and this is one of the major reasons restaurants are fined and ultimately closed. It presents a serious risk to both the business establishment and the health of the customers. In addition, slime growths can reduce the quality of the ice (bad tastes and odors) as well as the size of each harvest. Ultimately, expensive service calls must be confronted and the life of the ice maker itself is shortened.
